Does anyone know if there is an ADSL Modem/Router on the market that has a USB NAS port that allows full file mangement? (I don't know if anything like this even exists)
I currently have a wireless ADSL modem/router but want to be able to attach an external HD to it so that I can share files accross the wireless/wired network and be able to create folders move files around etc on the HD without having to disconnect it each time.
I know there are a couple of routers about that do this but ideally don't want seperate pieces of kit. Also (with my limited knowledge) I am under the impression that I went down that route I would have to buy a new modem that is not wireless, to link it to the router.
Can anyone help?

While we can add NAS to a LAN the idea of such as well as the DSL modem in the box would upset many as they lose the NAS when they move to Cable, Fiber or other.

Thanks for that so basically what I need to do is go down the route of seperate modem and router?
Do you know if it is possible to stop a wireless ADSL/Router to stop acting as a router? I could then link a seperate router to my current moden without having to buy both seperate pieces of kit.

Most cable, DSL, fiber providers are giving you the modem+router+wifi. Why not just add what you want to your LAN?
Why isn't separate pieces a good thing?

Its because I am sailing into waters that I don't really know or understand. I so know what I want to achieve but just not sure what I need to acheive it.
My current setup is an Xbox 360, 2 x laptops and a desktop (that I am using as a media centre) and has my external HD linked to (I eventually want to replace this with a wireless media player). All of this is working through a BT Voyager 2091 ADSL Router.
I can access the files on the external HD but it means I need to turn on the desktop to be able to share everything. That is why I am looking for some kind of NAS option on the router.
Do you have any suggestions? Could I link another wireless router to my ADSL router via a LAN cable?

I won't detail why it is so but no one I know of is happy with wifi NAS setups. We won't go there.
I have a simple NAS that was 25 bucks. It's the IOGEAR GMFPSU22W6 which I picked up a pair to use for a NAS. http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=GMFPSU22W6&cat=PRN
Why would I not use such a thing?
