Thank you! If anyone else is having this problem. I found a way to uninstall IE9
If you are unable to locate IE9: In programs and feature at the top of the page, click on search and enter IE9 and you can uninstall it and it will revert back to what you had IE8 and so forth. Thanks to Mark for his efforts!

Hi, why did you need to revert, I'm running Vista to and I've been looking forward to EI9.
Thanks, jens

I am considering this because some of the sites I use have not been adjusted for ie9 and I can't use it on them. It is a matter of time but I find that Chrome has the same issues and I have to use firefox which is OK but takes for ever to load. ie8 worked with everything, apparently.

I, too, regretted installing IE9 and needed help to uninstall it.
In the uninstall programs box you will see "Tasks" in
the upper left corner and right under that: "View Installed Updates". Click this and look for Windows Internet Explorer 9, double click it and select "uninstall". Remember to restart your computer afterwards!
Good luck!
