I have a picture saved for the album artwork for every album folder I have on my PC. I list them in Library - My Music. The MP3 files themselves within the album do not have a thumbnail view of the picture and artwork I have saved in the album folders. When I play the music in WMP, it shows up fine, but just not in the folders with the MP3's. I have Windows 7 Professional 64 bit, x86. Please help me with a resolution for this issue. Thanks.

this is starting to sound like the old ID type tag issue.(say what?) Link about it -> http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-sound/some-mp3-icons-dont-display-correctly-on-some-mp3/b6d029fb-cfc4-4a38-892a-a384b1c32c53

I have already looked at that page. It does not help at all. I can't even find anything to download from it.

ID3 tag editors are usually a personal choice. Did you look for any at download.com?

I have downloaded several of the Tag Editors, and those do not resolve the issue. They show up in the player with the Artwork, but not on each song thumbnail in the Album folder itself.
This is how it looks, basically:
(Supposed to be a pic, but just says "MP3") 01 "Song title"
(Supposed to be a pic, but just says "MP3") 02 "Song title" .... And so on with all the tracks for the album.
Bottom of list: Jpeg or Jpg picture file for the album.
The above is an example of how it looks in the album folder.

Armed with this I might compare a working file with a non-working file.

To prevent confusing parallel discussions I've locked that.
To me, showing a the thumbnail of a jpg in folder as an icon for other files doesn't seem to be a feature of Windows Explorer. To check, find another Windows 7 PC (family, friend) and see how it works there. In that case, better forget about it.

The Mp3 files themselves have had the Artwork on them for over 3 or 4 years. I bought a new PC and have Windows 7 Professional on it since. I never had this issue until the last couple of weeks. Before that, it all worked great every time I needed to put the artwork on the MP3 files. Now when I do that, all the tagging works, but the only issue is the MP3 file itself. It shows up in the player, the Artwork (ex: 200 x 200 jpeg pic in the album folder itself) works fine. As I said, the files just show "MP3", or "Wma", etc. I am beginning to think it's an update issue with Windows 7. I could be wrong, but that is my guess. There has to be a way to either know it's not going to happen, or it can. It's frustrating.

I would like to get this resolved, one way or another. Thank you.

Let me tell you how you can provide your own answer. My guess is you won't do it, but maybe - if your frustation is big enough - you'll do. In that case, please tell us your experiences.
1. System recovery back to factory conditions. Then it should work, as it always did.
2. Install your antivirus. Just for security.
3. One by one, do all Windows updates. See which one makes it not work. Then uninstall that.
4. The feature you like so much is back. Hooray!
5. Just in case it happens again, make an image backup so you can go back to this state.
6. Install all your other applications, Restore your data. Make a second image backup.

So I'm locking this one to prevent double discussions.
