Windows Task Master/Processes and iexplorer.exe

Why are there two instances of iexplorer.exe in Processes when IE is running on my machine? Right now one is only using around 12,400K and the other is around 156,500K. I used to see this with Firefox too.

...(Internet Explorer is "iexplore.exe" not "iexplorer.exe" (note the extra "r" in your version.)...Internet Explorer seems to run twice in Task Manager and it opens more times dependent on the number of Internet Explorer windows, or tabs, that you have open simultaneously, the operating system you have installed, or sometimes, it's simply because Internet Explorer didn't close previously when shut down like it's supposed to.

Hope this helps.

But as far as I can recall, never on my single core machine. Now I have a multiple core Windows 7, that is when I see two instances of iexplore.exe initially in the Task Manager. I then see more if I open more IE windows/tabs.

Do you have a dual or multi-core system?
