Serious and Anoying Problem

Hi The problem is the following. I had a motherboard m2n68-cm, it broke and the pc shop gave me a M3N78-EH. Today I received it and have some serious problems with it and i want to know whats the problem because i cant tell. I had no problems at all with the M2N. The games and Windows 7 are lagging in waves. these waves are lowering fps and intrerrupting audio .Crysis 2 for example.Every wave is lagging the game for like 7 seconds.its like 10 playable,7 not playable. Its very stressful. The temperatures are ok both GPU and CPU.Mayble the processor is not fitting well...dunno...
Heres the system:
__ASus M3n78-EH
__Ati RAdeon 4770 512 GDDR5 Pci Express x16 2.0
__4 gb Kingston Hyper-X
__AMD Athlon 64 x2 6000+ Brisbane 3.1 Ghz
I repeat the problem did not occure on the m2n68-cm Mobo

PS : BIos is up to date, temps are ok...whats the problem?

Thanks

When we change motherboards, Windows rarely runs right if the install was from the other board.

Add that installing Windows is far from simple enough yet with drivers that may be out of date with the CD that came with the board.

Here's what I missed in your post -> Is this is the old Windows install?

Reply 2 : Serious and Anoying Problem

Nope, this windows was installed when i recieved it.so its with the actual hardware.

Reply 3 : Serious and Anoying Problem

btw ,how do i reply in the same thread?

Reply 4 : Serious and Anoying Problem

Ok, so Windows was installed but I'm finding most to not install motherboard and all the lovely drivers. If you feel you did the install proper you have a WARRANTY issue to deal with.

It is possible you tripped over yet another toxic combo of software but I can't know this as there is so little detail in the discussion.

i think it aint good at all http://img852.imageshack.us/i/hdtuneg.jpg/

Reply 6 : Serious and Anoying Problem

I looked at that screen and see no reason to keep that drive.

Reply 7 : Serious and Anoying Problem

i guess this is the problem with frames and all the freezing problems?

Reply 8 : Serious and Anoying Problem

It certainly doesn't help. And you can't be sure of this till you swap it out but a seller would be in their rights to not swap out a system if that drive was found to be there.
Bob

Reply 9 : Serious and Anoying Problem

Well as i said i checked with an external hard drive and the old on still atached and the same problems happen...

I mean the,the windows is on the old one....and i played the game on the external one...does that make any difference?(should it?).

Should i try to replace the internal one with another internal and try again?

All i want to say...is the HD the problem thats causing this?

Reply 10 : Serious and Anoying Problem

I think it is time to replace the motherboard.

Reply 11 : Serious and Anoying Problem

You seem to be in a state of denial. You are attempting to justify that a bad HDD is not the cause and we know the test for figuring out if it is.

Since we know that such a drive can cause issues, it is up to you to figure out if you want to tackle the issues or try to change motherboards and hope.

I need help!!!

Hey i've been trying to get improve my standard inspiron 530, to be fit for gaming, but i'm kind of low on money, any thing that i NEED to get in order to make it better for gaming? P.S. it has vista.

your system has, we're at a real disdvantage.

That said having enough RAM and a decent GPU are usually key ingredients for a decent gaming PC.

tools to monitor web forums

Hello,

I am interested in tools which allows me to monitor discussion on various web forums about products I am offering with my busines.

Can anyone recommend something, maybe even a free tool
I am interested in any kind of tools.

Thanks for this

Reply 1 : tools to monitor web forums

I believe you may be looking at some type of RSS Feeds.

I can't speak for forums hosted elsewhere, but CNET has an RSS option for each of it's forums, and these feeds can be added to any web site.

There is more about CNET RSS Feeds here;

Is that the type of thing you are looking for?

Hey Mark,

thanks for your comment but I don't think this is something I am looking for. It's like focussed web crawler...

Reply 3 : tools to monitor web forums

So I will have to pass.

I did find this;
http://www2008.org/papers/pdf/p447-caiA.pdf

It's a PDF from a Chinese study, (the PDF is in English), about "iRobot: An Intelligent Crawler for Web Forums".

I didn't read it all, in fact I didn't even start, but the Google link I saw to this suggested web crawlers for forums were problematical. May be that is reflected in the PDF.

Good luck with your search.

Thanks Mark, I found in the end something very and even for free, it's called Trackur.

but I hope it works for you.

Thanks for reporting back.

Laptop brightness settings

Hello,
I have a Lenovo ideapad Y560 running windows 7 and i'm having an issue with my monitor brightness settings... they keep changing on me. I set them to the highest setting for when its plugged in but then seconds later they dim back down to 50%. and it seems to be moving around even as i'm sitting here typing this message, it dims and lights up to 50% but doesn't stay at 100%. I even go into my power settings, choose high performance and set my display setting to 100 and then seconds later it will dim, i will go back into my settings and they're set at 50% even after i just saved them at 100. can someone help me with this?

http://forum.notebookreview.com/dell-inspiron-dell-studio/294722-dells-auto-backlight-dimmer-software-2.html notes Dell's software to do this.

Some laptops have this and some use some autodimmer based on ambient light sensing. LOOK for those features on your machine.

1. Start > Control Panel > Systems and Security > Power Options.
2. On the one that is selected, click on Change plan settings.
3. Click on Change advanced power settings on the new page.
4. Expand the Display settings and see if there is an auto-dim option.

usb and com share thru internet

Hello guys. I need some help about sharing usb and com port via internet. I have a machine which repairs phones via usb&com called as BOX. I want to be able to repair phones while im not at home for ex with laptop everywhere. This box connected with usb to computer and uses COM ports as in this photo

Not going to happen AND it's a supremely bad idea even if it did. If you could access it via the Internet, so potentially could anyone else.

Your best bet would be a VPN, but I doubt even that would allow for remote mapping of hardware between systems, because as I said, from a security standpoint it is a supremely bad idea.

Maybe you should just get a second one of these boxes that you can take with you, and to have as a spare if something happens to the first one. Assuming it's legal for you to have the first one, getting a second shouldn't be an issue.

Since there is no app for this, are you going to write it?

Such things have been written but usually by folk with background in embedded software, Windows and more.

How to replace my wireless G with a new Wireless N

I have two computers which have been networked for internet access for the last 5 years. The wireless router is a Lynksys G, which has started to become problematic. One computer is an XP PC, which is using the wireless adaptor, and the PC hardwired to the router is a Vista OS.

I was not sure if the router or the modem was causing our problems accessing the internet, but the DSL people checked and said it did not show problems.

Today went to Radio Shack and bought a Netgear N router (which the sales clerk said WOULD be compatiable with the G adaptor). Since the XP is actually using WINDOWS to run the wireless, because the lynksys software began causing problems) but the Lynksys monitor remains in the system tray (disabled).

My question is, first, do I have to remove the lynksys monitor software from the XP computer, (and how do I do that?) or will the Netgear N software simply overwrite it? Should I even install the Netgear software, or simply continue to use the Windows network?

Any help is appreciated.

Rad

If it worked before with it there, then you don't have to. You can just use Windows. If you want to remove it, however, try Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and see if the Linksys Wireless in there. Click and select remove/uninstall.

> "or will the Netgear N software simply overwrite it"

You shouldn't really have to install any new software. Plugin/setup the Netgear, make sure it's broadcasting on "G", and then browse for a new wireless network on both PC's and connect to it.

Don't forget to encrypt your connection with something like WPA2, which if you follow the wizard, it will most likely setup for you.

..There's no need to install any software as long as the Windows wireless icon displays in the lower right corner.. You might also be able to uninstall the Lynksys software after you confirm that your connection is made using the standard Windows icon. If you need to remove the Lynksys software, it should be in the Control Panel/Add-Remove Programs section.

Hope this helps.

That is interesting & from the sounds of it, the VAIO Z successor is gonna be impressive. Unfortunately, the one negative for me based on info from that link is the implementation of non-user replacement batteries.

Wow, this might be it.. I wish they posted some pictures of this thing. My refurbished Z1290 CTO is arriving tomorrow.

I actually prefer integrated battery compared to the wiggle room of current Z. Also it'll give more space to put higher capacity battery. I hope it'll be priced below $2000.

Sony press conference will be 5pm PST today.

I'm actually happy about it. I never remove the battery and would rather they cram a slightly more capacious non-removable battery. Performance over flexibility says I

yessss, this might be the "one" I was waiting for.

usb 3,0 , beefier graphics & a better processor

I'll be ready with my american express to order :]

although the "sealed" battery is kind of a downer, but nevertheless it is exciting!

does ces start today (wedn.)? I thought it was on the 6th

I don't see this one as a Z replacement imo. Having both old VGN-Z and relatively new VPC-S, I prefer Z by far. Hope they'll update Z series as well.

I agree about non-removable battery, kinda let down for me, as if battery degraded you can't purchase new one without sending it to authorized dealer for replacement.

Any pictures of SA?

Cheers,

Miki

All the article said was that the "battery is no longer LATCH-removable". It never actually said yet that it wasn't removable, nor gave the details that they were going to be retarded like Apple and implement some sort of draconian battery replacement policy. Let's hope Sony have the sense not to copy Apple for the sake of copying Apple (contrary to the raving by the Apple-cultists, I find Apple are SO backward in many ways). If Sony still make the battery user- removable by screwdriver (while also giving a much-needed larger battery capacity) then I'd support this move.

On another point, I hope Sony updates the entire Vaio range with a decent set of speakers. For a company like Sony who likes to sell itself as having a good reputation for audio, the quality of speakers in all the Vaio laptops is disgraceful.

Reply 7 : Sony SA Series Discussion Sony's next new 13.3 laptop

In my opinion, Sony's been getting more 'Apple-fied' over the past few years. The VGN-Z to the VPC-Z being notable; the 'unification' of the keyboard and hinge into a single piece to me is going towards the MacBook Pro design. Though granted, the Z looks awesome unlike the Mac.

To me, the Japanese-inspired design was at its peak in the VGN-TZ era. It was rather strong with the VGN-Z as well (though not as much), then the TT came out which was a downer for me, then the VPC-Z..... But as I said, that's my opinion.

I would be interested in knowing how this new battery implementation works. Most batteries work via latches today, and indeed making it permanently built-in does take away that 'customisable' aspect of a laptop (cough Apple-and-its-persistance-to-prevent-users-doing-what-they-want-to-their-own-stuff cough). If it's anything like the X series, well, if that's the case the SA will be most interesting indeed....
